Kathiyawadi Dhokli nu Shaak |
Kathiyawadi Dhokli sabzi is a famous Kathiyawadi/Gujarati dish made with gram flour,buttermilk and lot of home ingredients. Preparation of Kathiyawadi Dhokli Shaak is very easy and can be prepared in very short time. It's a regular day recipe made by Kathiyawadi/Gujarati region. Being Kathiyawadi in Gujarati,I love this sabzi since from my childhood. Try this and I assure you that your family will definitely love this.
Ingredients:
For Making Dhokli:-
1/4 cup Buttermilk(Chaas)
1 cup Water
1/2 tsp Salt
1 cup Gram Flour(Besan)
1/2 cup Water
3-4 tbsp Oil
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1 tsp Cumin Seeds(Jeera)
1/4 tsp asafoetida (Hing)
1/2 tsp Ginger Chilli Paste
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder(Haldi)
1/2 tsp Chilli Flakes(Optional)
1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1/2 tsp Oil
For Making Gravy:-
1/2 cup Buttermilk(Chaas)
1 and 1/2 cup Water
Salt as per taste
2-3 tbsp Oil
1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds(Rai)
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds(Jeera)
1/4 tsp Asafoetida(Hing)
1/2 tsp Green Chilli Paste
1/2 tsp Garlic Paste
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder(Haldi)
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder or as per Taste
Method:
For Making Dhokli:-
In a bowl,add buttermilk,water,salt and mix well. Keep it aside.
Take another bowl and add Besan and water and mix well and keep it aside.
Heat a pan/Kadhai and add mustard seeds,cumin seeds and let it splutter.
Once it splutters,add hing and ginger chilli paste and mix well.
Add turmeric powder and chilli flakes and mix well.
Add prepared buttermilk water and give a good mix. Keep the flame low while adding .
Add besan batter and mix continuously so that lumps don't get form.
Batter will start thickening,mix on low flame until batter becomes non-sticky.
Add oil and mix well.
As batter becomes non-sticky,turn off the flame and take batter in a greased plate with oil.
Take a small bowl and apply oil on bottom side and press the batter with the help of bowl to give it the shape of your wish.
Once it cools,cut it in your own choice's size and shape.
For Making Gravy:-
In a bowl,add buttermilk,water,salt and mix well and keep it aside.
Meanwhile,heat a pan/Kadhai and add oil and let it heat.
As it heats,add rai,jeera and let it splutter.
Add hing and green chilli paste and mix well.
Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder and mix it well.
Add buttermilk water and keep the flame low or off while adding.
Mix well and add prepared dhokli and keep the flame medium.
Mix well and turn off the Flame.
Your Kathiyawadi Dhokli nu shaak is Ready to Serve!
