Karari Rumali Roti |
Rumali Roti is an thin Indian Flatbread prepared with maida or all purpose flour. It's name derives from the word "Rumal" which means Handkerchief in Hindi and Punjabi. This recipe comes from Punjabi Cuisine. This I have made in new version which is crispy and is filled with onions and spices which is very mouthwatering. In addition to this, I have also made it wheat flour and added just 1/4 cup of maida which is healthy too. So try this at home and Enjoy!
Ingredients:
For Making Karari Roti:-
1 cup Wheat Flour
1/4 cup Refined Wheat Flour(Maida)
2 tbsp Oil/Ghee
Salt as per Taste
3/4 cup Milk
Oil as required
For Masala:-
Onions(Chopped and as required)
Red Chilli Powder(as per your choice)
2 tbsp Butter
1 tbsp Mixed Herbs
1 tbsp Garlic Paste
1/4 tsp Chaat Masala
Method:
For Making Karari Roti:-
In a bowl,add wheat flour,maida,salt,ghee and combine well.
Add milk and knead a soft dough.
Once dough is ready,add oil and knead well.
Cover it for 15-20 minutes and keep aside.
After 15-20 minutes,knead dough again and apply oil if you want. Make medium sized balls of dough.
Meanwhile,heat a kadhai or any dome shaped utensil and place it opposite direction such that the dome part comes upwards and preheat it for 10-15 minutes.
Make thin rotis out of that balls.(You can check it in my Youtube Video Given Below)
Grease the kadhai with oil and place the roti on that kadhai.
Roast it from one side on medium flame so that it automatically gets roasted from the other side.
Once it is roasted,remove it and Your Karari Roti is Ready!
For Making Masala:-
Take required amount of chopped onions in bowl and add red chilli powder as per taste and mix well.
Take butter in room temperature and add mixed herbs,garlic paste,chaat masala and mix well.
For Making:-
Take prepared karari roti in plate and spread prepared butter delicately.
Add prepared chilli onion in that roti.
sprinkle some masala from top if you want.
