Preparation Time:10 Minutes

Cooking Time:20 Minutes

Total Time:30 Minutes

Servings:4

Ingredients:

1 bowl milk powder

1/4 bowl fresh milk

1/4 bowl powder sugar

2 tbsp ghee

2 tbsp saffron milk

1 small bowl milk

Method:

Add ghee in a heated pan and let it melt.Add fresh cream and mix it well.

Once the mixture becomes smooth, add milk and cook by stirring continuously on medium flame. After the milk mixture starts simmering, add milk powder to it and keep stirring constantly on low flame until the mixture becomes thick like dough(mawa).

Turn off the flame now and transfer the mawa on a plate so that it cools down a little. when the mawa remains little warm, mix well and  add powder sugar in it.

Now dust a modak mold with powdered sugar and put some mawa mixture on both the sides of the modak mould. Close the mould and remove the excess mawa mixture from it. Then open the mould and take out the modak from the mould.

Suggestions

Make mawa properly by continuously stirring the mixture to dissolve the lumps well. After that, slightly cool it down then add powdered sugar.

If you feel that the mixture is too soft to shape into modaks then add some milk powder in it  or keep it inside the refrigerator for 1 hours and then use to make modaks.
