SOOJI KA HALWA

Sooji Ka Halwa

Sooji ka halwa is a very popular sweet dish all over India,this dish is known as sheera in Western India and rava kesari in South India.It is made on religious occasions as prasad like Diwali,Ganesh Chaturti and Holi.I prepared this recipe for ashtami and navami.


Preparation Time:5 Minutes

Cooking Time:15 Minutes

Total Time:20 Minutes

Servings:4


Ingredients:


1 Cup Semolina(Rava/Sooji)

1/2 Cup Ghee

2 and half cup Milk

5-6 Saffron Strands

1 tsp Cardamom Powder

1 and half cup Sugar

2 tsp Cashewnuts for garnishing(chopped)

Method:

Heat ghee in a non-stick pan.Add semolina and roast on low flame till fragrant.




Heat milk in another non-stick pan.


Add milk,saffron and cardamom powder to semolina.Mix it and cover it for 2-3 minutes.





Add sugar,mix it and cover it for 3-4 minutes and cook till it melts.Switch off the flame,add cashewnuts and mix well.



Serve hot and garnished with cashewnuts.

Note:

You can also add almonds, pistachio or any other dryfruits.
