Gujarati Daal
Gujarati Dal is very delicious tangy and great with Rice and Roti. Gujrati daal is a healthy dish prepared from tuvar daal (pigeon pea)and many Indian spices.In Gujarati cuisine,it is a part of the everyday meal.

INGREDIENTS;
1 cup tuvar dal/toor dal/arhar dal/yellow lentils
1 chopped tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon chopped ginger
1-2 sliced green chilli
5-7 curry leaves(optional)
¼ teaspoon asafoetida
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 inch long cinnamon stick(optional)
1 tablespoon skinned whole peanuts
1 tablespoon jaggery or sugar
2 kokums or half lemon juice or 1 tsp imli
1-2 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
Salt to taste
Method:
Wash tuvar dal under running water
Wash tuvar dal under running water
Cook the tuvar dal with 2 cups of water add penuts into steel katori put penuts into katori into cooker.Cover lid turn heat on let dal cook for 4-5 whistle.turn of the stove after pressure do down open the lid.
Remove thw katori and keep boil penuts aside now add 1 cup water to the boiling daal and blend it well.
Now heat a kadai add boil dal ,turmeric powder,green chilli,grated ginger,chopped tomato,penuts and jaggery,salt mix it well.
let boil dal boil for 8-10 minutes if dal get thick add water in it once dal boiling well.
Add lemon juice mix well and turn of the flame.
For Tadka:
Heat the oil in the small tadka pan on medium heat.
once oil hot add musturd seeda,cumin seeds ,fenugreek seeds let them pop now add bay leaves,cinemom stick ,cloves,dried chillies(i am using dried boriya chilli),pinch of hing,curry leaves and last add red chilli powder saute well.
Immediately add tadka to the simmering dal mix it well finally add coriander leaves

Gujrati dal is ready to serve garnish with coriender leaves and curry leaves serve with jeera rice,pulka or roti.
