HOMEMADE MISAL MASALA AND MISAL PAV

Home Made Misal Masala And Misal Pav

One of the most famous Maharshtrian recipes misal pav is combination of savouries and sprouts. The tasty and healthy sprouts cooked  with  delicious masala and with onion and tomato puree.The best part of misal is you can serve this as a breakfast,brunch and dinner.
with potato bhaji and farsan with ladi pav.

 Step 1 :

Pressure cook Sproute mataki and moong

Ingredients

  • 150 gram Sproutes (100 gram mataki + 50 gram moong )
  • 1/4 tspTurmeric Powder
  • 1/4tsp hing
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 glass water

Method :

In a pressure cooker add sproutes,turmeric,hing,salt pressure cook for 1 whistle.

Once sproutes are cooked after 1 whistle turn off the flame let cool down completely.

keep aside.



Step-2


Kolhapuri Misal Masala 




Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 1/4 cup dry desiccated  coconut
  • 6 Dry Red chillies
  • 6 Cloves
  • 1/4 Tsp black pepper powder
  • 10 no Fenugreak  Seeds
  •  1 small Cardemom Stick
  • 2 small Cinnamom
  • 1 star  anise
  • 1 stone flower/dagad fool
  • 6-7 garlic  cloves 
  • small 1 piece of ginger


Method to make masala :

In a pan add all whole spices  and garlic and ginger pieces roast on a low flame until aroma come its take  3 to 4 minutes be careful do not burn spices.

Now turn off the flame and let spices cool down completely.

onces spices cool down completely.grind spices in a mixture grinder and make fine powder.

Store this aromatic kolhpuri  masala in a air tight container.


STEP 3:

Make potato bhaji

Ingredients:

  • 3 Boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 tsp masterd seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 6/7 curry leaves 
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp hing
  • salt 
  • 1/4 Tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander

Method to make potato bhaji:

In a pan add 2 tbsp oil

once oil hot enough

 add mastard seeds,cumin seeds let it splutter

add curry leavs,hind,turmeric and add boiled and mashed potatoes.

Mix it well

add coriander

turn off the flame potato bhaji is ready 

keep aside.

STEP4

Make onion tomato puree

Ingredients:

  • 2 onion chopped
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 tbsp dry  or fresh slice onion
  • 1 tbsp oil 
  • 1 tsp jeera

 Method:

In a kadhi add oil

once oil hot enough

add jeera let it splutter

add chopped onions

let onion become transperant

add  slice cocounat

and saute well for minutes

add chopped tomato

let tomato become soft

turn off the flame 

let it onion and tomato mixture cool down completely

after mixture cool down completely make take mixture in a mixer jar and make a puree.


STEP 5:

Make Misal

 Ingredients:

  • 6 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • 1 tbsp red chilli-ginger-garlic paste
  • 6 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp misal masala
  • 1/4 tsp hing 
  • salt as per taste
  • water 3 glass
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander
 Make Misal:

In a kadhai add 6 tbsp oil 

once oil hot enough add jeera,hing turmeric powder,red chilli ,misal masala powder saute well.

immidiately add prepared onion tomato gravy and saute well for 2 minutes.

after 3 minutes add salt mix well and cover for 2 minutes

Remove cover after 2 minutes and add boiled sproutes.

and mix it well let add coriander

add 3 glass of water and let it misal cook for 7-8 minutes.

after 8 minutes turn off the flame.


STEP  6:

Make Tari:

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp oil

  • 1 tsp red chill powder

  • 1tsp red chilli -ginger- garlic paste (Optional)

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 tsp chopped coriander.

Make tari

In a pan add oil once oil hot enough add red chilli-ginger-garlic paste mix it well add red chilli powder and immidiately add water and coriander and let it boil well and turn off the flame after 2 minutes.

Tari is ready keep aside.

 step 7

Serving 

Ingredients

Laadi Pav, Farsan, Kolhapuri Chutney, Lemom, Chopped Onion, Misal & Tari

Add all the ingredients in a Plate and Serve with Pride.
