Poha Chivda
Poha Chivda is a another very quick and easy and all time favourite diwali snack. It is crispy maharashtrian snack made by roasting thin poha with some spices and nuts. It can be good tea time snack also.
Ingredients:
One forth cup peanuts
One forth cup cashew nut
One forth cup dry cocounuts slice
Fifteen to twenty curry leaves
Four Green chillies chopped
Asafotedia(Hing)
Salt to taste
One fourthowder suger
Half tsp turmeric powder
Half tsp mustard seeds
Half tsp Cumin seeds
Oil as required
Method:
Heat oil in a pan,Add mustard seeds and jeera and let them pop up.
Now add curry leaves and chopped green chillies fry for a minute.
Add peanuts and fry till peanuts begin to turn reddish,now add cashew nuts and dry coconuts again fry for a minute until coconut colour changes.
When cashews begin to turn reddish,add asafoetida and turmeric powder mix well.
Add poha,lower the heat while adding poha and mix well.
Roast the chivda on low heat for about 4-5 minutes.
Turn off the flame add salt and powdered sugar and mix well again.
Poha chivda is ready to serve.
Tip:
You can also add dal or chat masala.
