SABUDANA KHICHDI

Sabudana Khichdi

Sabudana kichadi is an easy snack. Sabudana khichdi usually made during fasting days. It is one of the most healthy khichdi.



Soaking Time: 2-3 hours

Preparation Time: 15 mins 


Cooking time: 8-10 mins  


Makes: 2 serving


Ingredients:


1 cup sago (sabudana), washed and drained


1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)


2 tbsp oil


1 cup and peeled potato small cubes


salt or sendha namak(rocksalt) to taste


1/2 cup roasted coarsely powdered peanuts


2 tbsp finely chopped coriander.


2 finely chopped green chillies


8 to 10 curry leaves (kadi patta)


1 tsp lemon juice


1 tsp sugar.


Method:


Combine the sago and 3/4 cup of water in a deep bowl, mix well and keep aside to soak for 3 hours.


Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan and add the cumin seeds.


When the seeds crackle, add the curry leaves,green chillies, Peel potato saute till they are light brown color. Add sabudana (sago), salt, peanuts, coriander,lemon juice and sugar, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 3 to 5 minutes.


Serve hot with chutney.


Suggestion:


Adjust the soaking time as per the type sabudana.
