DRUMSTICK POPPY SEEDS CURRY

Drumstick Poppy Seeds Curry

Drumstick poppy seeds curry is a simple  and easy recipe. It does not take much time to prepare and it has great nutritional value like it is rich in iron,vitamin C and calcium. Drumstick are help to offer healthy bones.




Ingredients :

2-3 drumsticks (Cut into finger sizes)

1/2 cup poppy seeds (soak into warm water for 2 hr.)


1/4 cup grated coconuts


4-5 cashew nuts


1/2 tsp cumin seeds


1/2 tsp mustard seeds


1 tsp ginger/garlic paste


1 pinch turmeric powder


1 pinch asafoeatida


1 green chilli


Salt to taste


1/2 tsp red chili powder


6-7 curry leaves

2 tbsp oil.

Method:


Make paste of soaked poppy seeds,cashew nuts, grated coconuts  and green chilli in a mixture make a fine paste.


Heat oil in a pan.


Add mustered seeds,cumin seeds,curry leaves, asafoeatida when it started to splutter. Add ginger garlic paste.


Add turmeric powder,red chilli powder and  drumstick  add 1/4 cup water. Cook covered for 5 minutes till drumsticks turn tender.


Open the lid, add the ground ingredients paste.


Add some water to thin down the gravy, combine well.


Add salt to taste.


Cook covered for 5 to 7 minutes.


Remove the pan from the heat and keep covered.


Serve with rice and roti.
