SAMOSA|| EASY KHASTA SAMOSA||

Samosa

Samosa is a potato stuffed deep fried Tea Time Snack that is very popular not only in India but also across Asian Countries and the middle east. It is believed that it was originated from the middle east and was brought up to India by the Merchants..

Ingredients:

For Samosa Dough:-

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp ajwain(carom seeds)

4 tbsp Ghee/Oil

Water(for kneading)

1 tsp Coriander seeds

1 big onion(Finely Chopped)

2 Green Chillies (Finely Chopped)

1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste

1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder

1/2 tsp Cumin Powder

1/4 tsp Fennel(Saunf) Powder

1/4 tsp Asafoetida(Hing)

Salt as Per Taste

4 big Size Potatoes(Boiled and Mashed)

Oil (For Frying)

Method:

For Making Dough:

In a plate, mix sieve maida, salt, rub carom seeds in your hand and add it for better taste, melted ghee/oil and mix for crispy samosas.

Add water and knead dough. Dough should not be thick nor thin.

Rest it for 20 minutes.

For making Stuffing:

Meanwhile,in a pan,add oil,coriander seeds,onion,chillies and let onion colour change.

As colour changes, add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder and give it a good mix.

Add cumin powder, hing, fennel powder, asafoetida, salt and mix well.

Let the mixture cool.

Take the dough and make it cylinder shape.(For understanding, check on my youtube video given below). Cut it in different parts.

Apply oil on surface and roll it in oval shape and roll it neither thick nor thin.

Cut roti in 2 equal parts and take the half part and apply water on edges. Make a cone and fill the stuffing.

Apply Water and cover samosas with wet cloth because if samosas  get dry,it cannot be fried properly.

Meanwhile, heat oil on medium flame and deep fry samosas for 2-3 minutes and fry till golden and crisp.

Serve it with green chutney, tomato ketchup or green chilly(Shallow fry with sprinkled salt) with tea and Enjoy.

Note:

1. Roll Dough evenly and dough should not be thick nor thin.

2. Apply Water and cover samosas with wet cloth because if samosas  get dry,it cannot be fried properly.
